Making It Real Ministries and my home church, Main Street Baptist Church, are partnering with First Baptist Church in Huffman, Texas. FBC is operating multiple shelters in the Huffman community near Houston. They are coordinating with FEMA and local emergency responders to provide those displaced from their homes by the flooding with safe shelter, food, water, and the love and support they need during this disaster.
We have a personal connection with FBC-Huffman. My friend, Brad Ballard, is our pastor of evangelism and outreach. He grew up in the Houston area and is very good friends with Mike Martin, the senior pastor of FBC-Huffman. Brad also has many family and friends who are directly impacted by the flooding.
Because of this personal relationship and the fact that FBC is already coordinating with the emergency response officials, we decided this would be an ideal partnership.
We will provide supplies to address the immediate needs of those at the shelters as well as mission teams from Main Street Baptist Church to provide relief and support to the members of FBC Huffman who have been working grueling hours caring for their neighbors. The first group of volunteers will leave early tomorrow morning (Friday, September 1) and deliver several trailers full of donated supplies.
I'm working to arrange the purchase of pallets of bulk supplies which we hope to send early next week. However, we have to raise the money to purchase the supplies first. Thankfully, Joe Lykes of Lykes Cartage of Round Rock Texas has agreed to donate a 53' semi to pickup an deliver the pallets! That was a huge answer to prayer!!!
In the months ahead, we will continue to provide supplies and mission teams to assist with the hard work of helping the Huffman, Texas community recover and rebuild.
You can rest assured 100% of your donation will go to help those who have been impacted by the devestating flooding from Hurricane Harvey both now and in the difficult weeks and months to come.
Help us be the hands and feet of Jesus to the hurting people of the Houston area.
Your payment data is encrypted and secure. Payments will be processed through PayPal.
100% of your donation will go to relief efforts!
We will use your donation to purchase and transport desperately needed supplies for the FBC Huffman distribution center such as:
Non-perishable Food Items
Diapers and Wipes
Personal Care Items (Shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.)
Food service supplies (utensils, plates, cups, etc.)
